The Sicilian capital has been selected and chosen by a jury of experts chaired by Stefano Baia Curioni as the Italian capital of culture 2018.
Acknowledgment issued by the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Dario Franceschini, who on this occasion was able to reiterate how “This project has been backed up by a top-level crediblelity, supported by all institutional partners.”
“Prize confirming the strength of this city as a symbol of welcome in hard times such as these” reiterated the mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando, pointing out that “the project is aimed at social inclusion and has to send a good message to the country.”
The project, curated by Andrea Cusumano, also focuses on “Manifesta12”, one of the biennials of world-renowned contemporary migrant art that will take place in Palermo in 2018 and will be on the theme of hospitality.
